Social Justice and Art with Maine Inside Out (CCMA)
Ages 13-18
Bashir Matan, Noah Bragg, and Stacy Perez of, Maine Inside Out, Portland, will lead an interactive virtual workshop, giving teens an understanding of what it means to create art that is inspired by social justice issues. Maine Inside Out’s workshops involve a collaborative, creative process on topics of social change—this workshop will be inspired by the themes in the paintings of Bob Thompson. We’ll learn about the work of this innovative artist, talk about social justice and identity issues as well as participate in creative writing as a group. Bashir, Noah and Stacy will then share information about what it’s like to work at Maine Inside Out.
SLICE is free but pre-registration is required. A Zoom link will be sent to participants the week of the event.
