We begin "Bring Back Date Night" with a special screening of Wong Kar Wai's IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE, a ravishing portrait of forbidden attraction. The Hong Kong auteur directs Tony Chiu-Wai Leung and Maggie Cheung as two neighbors who form a tantalizingly chaste friendship while staying loyal to their respective spouses. When they discover their spouses are actually cheating on them, they agree that they can't stoop to their level. With a soundtrack featuring Nat King Cole, "lush visuals, precise framing, and evocative slow-motion," Wong Kar Wai "illustrates both the beauty of unexpectedly falling in love and the fractured feeling of knowing it can never be consummated" (
