June 18, 2022
4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
ARC-Hive Collective
Greene Block + Studios, 18 Main Street, Waterville
How does the Kennebec River sustain us? What ways of planting, cooking, and sharing food has the River made possible? Join the ARC-Hive Collective at Greene Block + Studios for a collective food and recipe storytelling event focused on our individual and communal food memories. All participants are invited to offer a recipe and share a story connected to it; these recipes and stories will be gathered and distributed in the form of community recipe boxes to participants.
A Glossary of Our Foods is part of “A Glossary of These Waters,” a collaboratively created art event in Waterville, Maine (June 14-21). Throughout the week, we’ll explore the Kennebec River and watershed, focusing on how we can engage and honor the River and her memories, properties, and futures. This week of art and reflective programs, workshops, and activities is the work of the ARC-Hive Collective, a shifting group of Maine-based educators, artists, performers, and archivists.
Open to all ages. ADA accessible. RSVP recommended as space is limited; email [email protected] to reserve a space and learn more.

We honor and celebrate the array of identities in our local community and broader communities, including those that are not part of the predominant culture. We hold space on our stage, our screens, and our gallery walls, in our studios, and at our community events and programs to present diverse stories, identities, and lived experiences in real and authentic ways.
