What are First Fridays?
First Fridays celebrate the vibrant creativity in Waterville through a wide array of arts experiences. On the first Friday of every month, visit Main Street in downtown Waterville to meet artists, see performances, listen to live music, eat delicious food, shop at local businesses, enjoy the arts, and come together as a community.
4pm- 6pm This month at the Schupf Center we will have a “Try, Make, Create” project themed around National Poetry Month! Create a collage inspired by a poem or using words from the word boxes on hand in our lobby.
At Greene Block + Studios 5 pm – 6:30 pm Community Fashion Show with Upcycled Fashion Workshop Participate, led by Kim Bernard (1st floor)
At Greene Block + Studios 6 pm – 8 pm: Lunder Institute of American Art Open Studios (3rd floor)
From 5 pm – 6:30 pm, participate in the culminating workshop and fashion show for Kim Bernard’s Upcycled Fashion workshop series. Join in making a piece and celebrate the creators who worked with Kim over the course of four weeks to upcycle found clothing and recycled materials into something fabulous!
From 6 pm – 8 pm, tour the studios of Lunder Institute Residential Fellows Heather Flor Cron , Tessa Greene O’Brien, and Dylan Hausthor. At The Costume Shop & Gallery, 179 Main St (second floor, #214) 5pm – 6 pm Singer songwriter Mollie Rainwater will be performing with breaks for an occasional haiku!! Â Fiber art, fine art, ceramics and vintage clothing.
