Experience firsthand capoeira, an Afro-Brazilian martial art form that combines dance, music, language, and acrobatics. Kenny Harris has worked with renowned capoeira mestres and will lead participants of all experience levels through the elements of the form. Developed by enslaved Africans in Brazil during the 16th century, capoeira is practiced all over the world and was granted a special protected status as intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO in 2014. Registration is limited to 10 participants from within the Colby community.

​​Kenny Harris started training in boxing at the age of 12 years old and was an amateur boxer in NYC for 10 years. With an additional 20 years of training and practice in martial arts, Kenny began a career in Personal Training in 2009 while continuing his education in Physical Therapy. Specializing in strength and endurance training, body weight movement, calisthenics, and functional training, Kenny teaches a wide variety of group exercise classes.
