Art Break: Headdress – Shadae by Dana Claxton

Each Thursday, join us to spend time with a work of art on view in the galleries at the Colby Museum. This week, Marisa C. Sánchez, Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow for Research and Scholarly Engagement at the Lunder Institute for American Art, will facilitate the conversation, focusing on Headdress – Shadae, by Dana Claxton, located in the Upper Jetté Gallery.

Art Break programs are grounded in the practice of slow looking, an educational approach that asks people to give patient, immersive attention to a work of art as a way to make connections and create meaning for yourself.
