Paul J Schupf Art Center, 93 Main Street, Waterville

Together, a community arts project, formally launches with this event: a celebratory, experiential, and informative festivity combined with community-building.

Together is designed to enable Waterville residents to share positive community experiences through art and story.

4:30-5:30pm Reception features food and refreshments provided by Bixby Chocolate Café and Wild Clover Cafe, live music performed by students and musicians from the Community Music School, and a variety of art displays.

5:30-6:30pm Program + performance of excerpts from Of This Place, a project directed by Matthew Cumbie which celebrates community stories by weaving together dance, music, projection, spoken word, and more. The program will also highlight past and present social-minded art activities in Waterville; celebrate community champions; and offer insights and updates on a variety of current community-building activities.

The entire event is free and open to the public. Due to limited space, registration is required for the 5:30-6:30pm performance.

This project is supported in part by the National Endowment for the Arts and the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and realized in partnership with the Colby College Museum of Art and its Lunder Institute for American Art.
