Maine Film Center Director to Participate in Mashariki African Film Festival in Kigali, Rwanda
Waterville, Maine – Mike Perreault, executive director of the Maine Film Center (MFC), will serve as a juror for film competitions at the Mashariki African Film Festival from November 5 to December 1, and will represent the Maine International Film Festival (MIFF) at the first-annual, Kigali-based MashaRket, from November 28 to 30. The Mashariki African Film Festival is the largest film festival in Rwanda; it was created to respond to a fast-growing film audience and a much-needed film connection through African countries, filmmakers, the African diaspora, and international media producers. This year’s program will include world premieres, screenings, workshops, seminars, panel discussions, networking sessions, and pitch opportunities.
The MashaRket is a three-day content market scheduled to take place during the ninth edition of the Mashariki African Film Festival. The event will gather film and media stakeholders from around the world, providing a platform for buying and selling audiovisual content and new media. MashaRket will also offer opportunities to monetize content and explore new partnership opportunities, serving as a comprehensive venue for industry professionals.
