Jeremy Pelt is one of the preeminent trumpeters within the world of jazz and was voted Rising Star on the trumpet, five years in a row by Downbeat Magazine. Pelt has recorded ten albums and has toured globally with his various ensembles, appearing at many major jazz festivals and concert venues. As a sideman, he is a member of the Lewis Nash Septet and The Cannonball Adderley Legacy Band featuring Louis Hayes, and has worked with Cedar Walton, Ravi Coltrane, Frank Foster, Jimmy Heath, Vincent Herring, John Hicks, Charli Persip, Ralph Peterson, Frank Wess, Nancy Wilson and The Skatalites, to name a few. Jeremy Pelt is also a gifted writer and was the subject of a recent New York Times piece about the trumpeters four volume series of written portraits titled “Griot: Examining the lives of Jazz’s great storytellers.”
