Popeye, a gruff sailor with a kind heart, arrives in the small port town of Sweethaven looking for his father, who abandoned Popeye when he was a baby. Falling in love with Olive Oyl, the daughter of the local inn keeper, Popeye develops a feud with Captain Bluto, the town bully and Olive's current fiancé. When Popeye and Olive find a baby that can seemingly predict the future, they must protect him from the greedy Bluto and his mysterious boss, the Commodore. Directed by the legendary Robert Altman and starring Robin Williams and Shelley Duvall, this loving adaptation of the iconic cartoon—complete with musical numbers—tells the origin story of our favorite spinach-eating sailor and is a hidden gem fit for the whole family!
