Part of Fireflies, a family-friendly film series.
When magic tricks are overshadowed by the rock 'n' roll of the 1950s, an out-of-work French illusionist finds himself touring the streets of Scotland, performing in dingy restaurants and rundown pubs to earn a living. Things turn around when he meets Alice, a young girl who believes that magic is real. The illusionist, his ill-tempered rabbit, and Alice travel to Edinburgh to perform, but as his wages continue to diminish the magician worries that he will eventually destroy the illusion of magic for his young fan. An homage to legendary French comic Jacques Tati and an Academy Award-nominee for Best Animated Feature Film,
The Illusionist is chock-full of "exquisite images, poignant humor, echoes of cinema history and a sense of having watched genuine magic"—Joe Morgenstern,
