Paul J. Schupf Art Center
Designed to bring together under one roof some of Waterville’s most beloved arts institutions along with a dynamic and collaborative creative team to lead them, the Paul J. Schupf Art Center opened to the public on December 17, 2022.
This vibrant hub of arts and community includes:
- The three screening rooms of the Maine Film Center (relocated from Railroad Square);
- Ticonic Gallery + Studios, which includes a first-floor exhibition space, clay studio, and classroom for youth and adult arts education;
- Studio 1902, which serves as a rehearsal studio for Waterville Opera House theatre productions, and can also be used for educational camps, dance classes, special events, and receptions;
- The new Joan Dignam Schmaltz Gallery of the Colby College Museum of Art;
- The Bibby and Harold Alfond Sky Bridge, which provides an accessible connection to the Waterville Opera House lobby;
- The Ed Harris Box Office, where patrons can buy tickets and access information for all of this programming in one centralized place.
