Building Hope: Ending Homelessness in Maine is a powerful and heartfelt documentary that delves into the lives of the unhoused community and their individual journeys toward rebuilding a stable life. Highlighting the struggles of Mainers who lost their living situations to life-changing events including domestic violence, the pandemic, and incarceration, and featuring insights from leaders working to help those who are unhoused and solve one of the worst societal traumas of this century, Building Hope puts a face, name, and story to those experiencing homelessness. Director and MIFF alum Richard Kane's newest documentary reminds us that we have the power to make a difference in the lives of our community members.

After the film, join Dr. Katie Spencer White as she leads a discussion panel comprised of Colleen Madigan, Clinical Director at MMHSS; Rebecca Green, Chair of Waterville City Council; Jason Frost, Fire Chief of Waterville Fire Department; and Kate Smanik, Dean of Religious and Spiritual Studies at Colby College.
