Friday, December 2, 2022
5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Colby Arts Office
Greene Block + Studios, 18 Main St, Waterville
This First Friday Greene Block + Studios will be filled to the brim with multidisciplinary arts experiences, free and open to all!
A Part of This Place: Community Engaged Performance
What does it mean to be a part of a place, or to be in community? How can performance reflect this? And what do we want to celebrate, question, and carry forward here in Waterville? Join us at the Greene Block + Studios to experience intergenerational dance and music performances that are developing in response to these questions. Curated and led by Matthew Cumbie, Annie Kloppenberg, and José Martinez, performances will feature people of all ages and backgrounds, and will invite you to contribute your own stories and ideas!
You can also stop by the Center for Book & Print anytime during the event to contribute your food stories to the Waterville Food Stories project. Bring along a recipe, food memory, or any food-related imagery to create a risograph print. You’ll walk away with your own print while contributing copies to the collection that will be turned into a book in Spring 2023.

We honor and celebrate the array of identities in our local community and broader communities, including those that are not part of the predominant culture. We hold space on our stage, our screens, and our gallery walls, in our studios, and at our community events and programs to present diverse stories, identities, and lived experiences in real and authentic ways.
