Holi (pronounced “holy”), also known as the “Festival of Colors,” is a joyous Hindu festival marking the arrival of spring and the triumph of good over evil. It begins on the evening of the full moon in the Hindu month of Phalguna with Holika Dahan, a ritual bonfire symbolizing the victory of good as it reenacts the legend of Holika, a demoness defeated by devotion and virtue.
The next day, the true revelry begins! People gather to throw colorful powders, dance, and celebrate unity, love, and renewal. Across India, Holi traditions vary by region—some festivities last two days, while others continue for over a week!
Come be part of this vibrant, joyful, and inclusive celebration—bring your friends and family to learn about this fun holiday tradition!
