Into the Windlyn: Post Pardon: The Opera in the Museum

November 9

4–4:30pm

Colby College Museum of Art

To develop Post Pardon: The Opera, choreographer Laurel Jenkins has invited Maine-based dancers Katherine Ferrier, Annie Kloppenberg, and Liz Mulkey to create “wind scores” in response to the exhibition Into the Wind: American Weathervanes at the Colby College Museum of Art. Cellist Robin Lane and poet-librettist Arisa White will accompany the two thirty-minute performances. Taking place in the fictional city called Windlyn, Post Pardon: The Opera draws on African-diasporic spirituality and folklore to tell the story of Willow, a queer activist confronted with the ghost of her estranged mother. This program is presented in collaboration with Colby Arts.

Into the Wind: American Weathervanes is on view from November 9, 2024–June 8, 2025 at the Colby College Museum of Art
