Waterville Creates is excited to be hosting the Maine Arts Commission on October 29 at 10am at the Maine Film Center for a public learning session to introduce their new Creative Communities Grant, which is designed to support arts-based projects that foster community engagement! Please note that these grants are open to a variety of organizations and entities. The session will also include an overview of their Assets for Artists professional development workshops. Coffee + snacks will be provided.

CREATIVE COMMUNITIES GRANT OVERVIEW:
The Creative Communities Grant supports arts and cultural activities of organizations in service to Maine communities and residents. Funding is for the support of new or existing arts-based projects with a focus on community needs. The project should directly benefit the public and/or engage a specific community. All activities must be community-based and be open and accessible to the general public. Applicants may receive up to $7,000 in funding, with a 1-to-1 matching requirement.

Eligibility Requirements
Cultural organizations, K-12 schools, municipalities, tribal entities, and non-art 501(c)(3) organizations may apply. Public schools must apply through their school district. Projects must be community-focused arts and/or cultural activities, open to the public, and occur from July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026.
