At this interactive virtual workshop, students will view 15 silkscreen prints based on the life of Toussaint L’Ouverture, the 18th Century Haitian revolutionary general. This series created by artist Jacob Lawrence chronicles important and powerful stories of little-known histories within the larger context of racial justice themes. Students will receive art materials to create their own series to tell a story through images. The program will be led by artist and Colby ’21 Kanon Shambora and Kris Bergquist, the Museum’s Mirken Curator of Education and Engagement.
Intended for ages 13-17 encouraged, but adults are welcome!
A zoom link will be sent the week before the event!
