RESCHEDULED to Thursday, July 15th!
Back by popular demand! Join us for a tour of the night sky at a star party at Quarry Rd, near the yurt, after MIFF. John Meader, of Northern Stars Planetarium, will lead a tour of the constellations visible, sharing his knowledge of stars, visible planets, and the Milky Way which will be arching directly overhead. John will also share a bit of sky lore about the constellations. John’s laser pointer clearly points directly to the stars he’s talking about.
Bring a blanket if you want to lie on the ground, and bug-spray might also be a wise addition. We also ask you to only bring flashlights with red filters so your eyes can become fully adapted to the dark. If you bring your own binoculars, John will follow up the evening’s sky tour to lead a binocular star-hop for a closer look. Due to COVID-19, we cannot share a telescope or binoculars, so everyone who wants to learn to star hop, must bring their own binoculars. This will happen after the night sky tour.
Free and open to the public.
