Sunrise Partial Eclipse + Cyanotypes

March 29, 6–8am

Waterville Creates, Northern Stars Planetarium, and Colby College

The Collins Observatory, Washington street, Waterville

Rise and shine for a breathtaking celestial event with John Meader of Northern Skies Planetarium! As the sun peeks over the horizon on the morning of March 29, watch as the moon partially veils its light in a stunning partial solar eclipse. We will have solar glasses and telescopes out to greet the morning eclipse.

Join us at the Colby College’s Collins Observatory for this unforgettable experience, where science meets art. We’ll have cyanotype paper, colanders, and other creative tools on hand to capture the moment in unique and artistic ways. Yes, it’s early—but what better way to start the day than by welcoming the sun in the company of fellow skywatchers? Don’t miss this rare and awe-inspiring sight!
