Six hours remain to save democracy as War Game imagines a nationwide insurrection in which members of the U.S. military defect to support the losing presidential candidate, while the winning candidate and his advisors—played by an all-star roster of senior officials from the last five administrations—game the coup in the White House situation room. The country teeters on the brink of civil war as insurgents march on capitals and disinformation threatens to worsen the crisis—only a bipartisan effort can keep the country from crumbling entirely. A sensation at Sundance in January, War Game meets us at the halfway point between then and January 6, 2025, in a deliberation of the near future that hits a little too close to home.
